Pursed-lip breathing keeps your airways open longer by breathing out slowly through gently pursed lips, as if cooling a hot drink. Breathe in for 2 and out for 4. It naturally slows the breath and eases shortness of breath.

When to use it

Helpful when you feel breathless, during light exertion, or whenever your breathing feels fast and you want to slow it down.

How to do it

  1. 1Relax your shoulders and neck
  2. 2Breathe in through your nose for 2 seconds
