Coherent breathing — also called resonant breathing — slows your breath to about six breaths a minute, five seconds in and five seconds out. This pace brings the heart, lungs and nervous system into balance, creating a gentle, sustainable calm.

When to use it

A great everyday practice — use it to unwind, to reset between tasks, or as a few minutes of daily calm.

How to do it

  1. 1Breathe in gently through your nose for 5 seconds
